1.     Applying for new credit cards puts a hit on your credit each time.

2.     Keep all cards 30% below the max allowed.

3.     Closing an existing account may affect your debt ratio.

4.     Consolidating debt can make it look like 1 or 2 accounts are maxed out.

What should I do to ensure the highest possible credit score?

1.     Always stay current on existing accounts.

2.     Use your credit as per usual; a change in habits can be a red flag.

3.     Monitor what companies put on your credit report.
